The CNIC is committed to acting as a forum for the exchange of ideas in basic and translational cardiovascular research. The highlight of our meeting cycle is the series of CNIC Conferences, which bring leading scientists together to discuss key topics of broad interest.
The CNIC Conferences have a workshop format consisting of presentations from about 20 guest speakers to a limited audience of around 100 participants. Participants have the opportunity to present their work in poster sessions, and some are selected to give short talks. This intimate format enables extensive discussion of current issues and controversies and stimulates new thinking and ideas. CNIC Conferences run from late afternoon on a Thursday to lunchtime on the Saturday.
The conference on New Concepts in Age-Related Cardiovascular Disease will cover four topics of central importance in this field:
- Cellular senescence and CVD
- Vascular-neural-immune interactions in age-related disease
- Somatic mutations and clonal hematopoiesis in CVD
- Dysfunctional hematopoiesis in aging and cardiovascular disease
The meeting will address new trends in this area as well as potential strategies for exploiting this information therapeutically.
